Since the start of 2011, The Games Cast crew have been chatting about where we want to go with the podcast, the site, TGC Radio, and a raft of other as yet unannounced things on the horizon. We thought it was about time to begin sharing some of that with you lot to give you an idea of what is coming up in the next few months.

Now few people like change, and we have had the whole “if it ain’t broke don’t try and fix it” chat. As a result, what we want to do is tighten our ship somewhat, make things better for you dear reader/listener, and more importantly become a little more regular in releasing new episodes; thereby not leaving you all hanging wondering if we’ve suddenly disappeared into the ether.

We can safely say, we are not going anywhere, unless the big internetz monsters come find us and wipe our content from the face the web. Unlikely given our Anti-Internet-Monsters software, built in house by our legion of WoW dwarfs…..

I really should lay off the caffeine at night!

The biggest change you’ll see immediately is our commitment to making more episodes in something of a regular timescale, unlike our current strategy of working out how long it’s been since the last episode. Then panicking realising it’s been over a month and hurriedly putting a show together. Sometimes this has created a good show, other times; not so much.

As a result you’ll now be able to see a date on our events calendar for when the sessions for each new episode will begin. You can then expect to see the new episode released no later than two weeks from that day. For example, the first session noted begins on the week commencing 21st February for episode 13, so you will be able to get hold of it by 7th March at the latest. For the full listings get over the Events Calendar itself.

In terms of the shows content, this is where most of our scrutiny is right now, and as a result there are things we want to change, but more importantly we want to be sure that you guys get the chance to have your say.

So in a couple of months we are going to be putting out a listener survey to get your feelings on the show, and there will even be a prize for one lucky person. Don’t worry, it’s going to be a very short survey, because we get bored of these things too, but it’s the best way we can gauge the feelings of our audience.

Expect to hear more about that in episode 14 or 15.

They never thought it would happen, but episode 12 has finally managed to hit the interwebs for you lovely people to enjoy.

I think we need to offer an apology to everyone, as we’ve had plenty of questions about where this episode had got to, but it has taken much longer than the three of us would ever hope to get this one out the door.

Put simply, we’ve been hit with consistent illness amongst the team which has meant that whilst we had recorded the show on time, putting it together soon became a nightmare. However, we have been holding a number of discussions about how we can change that, but I’ll save that for a separate post.

So yes, episode 12, “Hob Nobs Make You Cough” (that’ll make sense when you listen the show, or maybe it won’t!) is now available for download if you subscribe to us through iTunes. It is also available through your RSS reader or direct from our site.

This time we discuss the PlayStation hack-fest, the Nintendo 3DS, as well as all the regular features such as Siralan, the Retro Tunes competition and a whole bunch of random off-shoot discussions that have no bearing on the original topic we started with but end up being quite good anyway.

If you’d like to discuss anything you’ve heard in the show, then head over to the special forum thread for this episode.
