TGC Ep 14 – E3 2011 Round-up

tgcep14

It’s an E3 2011 round-up on The Games Cast, and with no Duncan this month it’s down to Paul and Phil to discuss the presentations from this years entertainment expo. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo go under the spotlight as we go through their presentations with a fine tooth comb. Plenty of discussion and conjecture plus the good ol’ RetroTunes competition.

Phil, i saw the PS3 one live, while i agree that they scored points for apologising straight off the bat, jack tretton lost those points right after the uncharted 3 demo by saying ‘we’re gonna SELL a lot of units of that’ – it was sickening, you could just see the dollar signs in his eyes, he didnt even pretend to give a shit about the actual games.

I agree, that was a bit of a facepalm moment. I guess it always comes down to money. In your eyes who “won” E3, if any of them?

Well, i’ve only seen Sony’s in full, only snippets of the Microsoft one and hardly any of the Nintendo’s, still not seen anything of the wii-u (sp?), think i’m gonna have to give it to Sony, aside from the above mentioned facepalm moment, i lost interest in handheld gaming years ago, but the ryvita, psvita actually has me interested, and the split screen/single screen 3D option being implemented was a light bulb moment. I’m curious how much the Sony branded 3d monitor will be here, like the psvita price it’ll probably be well over-inflated here.
